Multi-use reconstitution
The bacteriostatic preservative suppresses microbial growth, so a single vial can be drawn from repeatedly under proper aseptic handling — unlike single-use sterile water for injection.

The laboratory standard diluent
Bacteriostatic water
Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is the standard diluent used in laboratory settings to reconstitute lyophilised (freeze-dried) research compounds. Unlike plain sterile water, the benzyl alcohol suppresses bacterial growth, which allows a single vial to be entered multiple times over a working period when handled aseptically.

Key benefits
The bacteriostatic preservative suppresses microbial growth, so a single vial can be drawn from repeatedly under proper aseptic handling — unlike single-use sterile water for injection.
Reconstituted peptides remain stable for longer when prepared with BAC water and stored refrigerated at 2–8°C, protected from light and freeze-thaw cycles.
Directed slowly down the inside wall of the vial, the diluent dissolves lyophilised powder without the foaming or shear stress that can degrade delicate peptide chains.
A known diluent volume against a known peptide mass gives an exact mg/ml concentration, which is what makes accurate, repeatable dosing calculations possible in research work.
Works as the diluent for effectively every lyophilised compound in the Iron Mode catalog, so one vial format supports the whole workflow.
Every Iron Mode compound vial ships with BAC water included — extra 3 ml vials are stocked separately for larger or ongoing research runs.
Reconstitution basics: introduce the diluent slowly against the vial wall, swirl gently rather than shaking, and allow the powder to dissolve fully before use. Store the reconstituted vial refrigerated and protected from light. Bacteriostatic water is supplied purely as a laboratory diluent for research compound reconstitution — it is not for human consumption, and benzyl alcohol preparations are not suitable for neonatal or large-volume use in any context.
